Rainbow Raincloud Craft

Rainbow Raincloud Craft

Is it just me or does it seem like this time of year we spend a lot of time inside with our kiddos? Whether it's because of snow or rain or just general coldness, we're inside quite a bit and I'm always looking for crafts or activities to do with my kiddos.

Honesty moment before I chat about this craft: my youngest is 2 years old and I honestly didn't know what to expect when we started this craft. I tried to pick something easy that he could do and I was pleasantly surprised that it turned out so cute! Did he spill paint all over his first cloud and we had to do a new one? yep. But the second one is just as adorable.

I had all of the supplies for this Rainbow Raincloud Craft at home already, so my hope is that it's something that would be so easy for you to gather supplies for and do with your kiddos! It was a cloudy, rainy day when we made this so it was not only the perfect indoor activity for us, but we also talked about the cloud being like the clouds outside!

RAINBOW RAINCLOUD CRAFT

MATERIALS NEEDED:

  • Markers (you can do rainbow colors or whatever colors you choose!)
  • grey watercolor
  • paintbrush
  • white cardstock paper
  • scissors
  • 6 big craft popsicle sticks
  • googly eyes
  • glue
  • packing tape

STEP 1: Using the markers, color all of the popsicle sticks different colors.

STEP 2: Draw a cloud on the white card stock paper and cut out with scissors.

STEP 3: Using the grey watercolor, paint the cloud to make it look like a little raincloud!

STEP 4: Glue the googly eyes on the cloud and draw a smile! Wait for paint to dry before continuing to the next step.

STEP 5: Flip over the popsicle sticks and using the packing tape, tape all of the popsicle sticks together by adding the tape across the top, middle and bottom. Next, tape the popsicle sticks to the back of the raincloud. Voila! You've got your little rainbow raincloud!
