If you follow @chalkfulloflove on Instagram, you know this post has been a long time coming! Our backyard has been undergoing a serious makeover for a while now with the addition of a swimming pool, and much more! This was no small task and we definitely worked very hard for a long time to be able to take on this project, and now it’s so exciting to be able to enjoy it and share a little bit of it with all of you! Below are some “before” and “during” shots of the transformation:
Now, for the fun part, the “after” shots! We live north of the Texas Hill Country area just outside of Austin, so the view from our yard was already pretty beautiful, but now being able to enjoy it poolside is even better!
As you can see, one of the major upgrades we did in the yard aside from the pool was the artificial grass. We love the lush and vibrant look of it and we even put in a little putting green! It was so fun to have a big hand in the design of everything. We picked out the tile and stone for the pool, and we chose to line the side of the pool with seating areas, then surround it with a big planter box to fill with rock and succulents. It truly feels like an oasis out here and we love it so much!
Of course, I had just as much fun (if not more) picking out furniture and decor for our backyard! We love hosting, so having lots of seating was a must. I’d say we definitely accomplished that. We were able to set up some of the outdoor furniture we already owned, then we added a fire pit, the papasan chair, and the incredible Live Outer Corner Sectional! Then, it all came down to the details. Pillows, towels, plants, pool floats, twinkle lights… It all completes the space!
