Anyone else think there is something so nostalgic and wonderful about a Fall movie night? I'm a sucker for making some tasty treats, setting a cozy mood and curling up for a really good Fall movie (my go-to is You've Got Mail!). There are so many elements that make a movie night a success and I've gathered them all in one blog post so you can host like a champ.
PICK THE MOVIE
It all starts with the movie. What movie are you going to watch? Are you watching a spooky Halloween movie, a cute Fall chick flick, or something in between? I created this Fall movie checklist (it's a free download!) last year to give you some good inspiration. I even listed all the Fall Gilmore Girls episodes!
SERVE UP SOME TASTY TREATS
Guys, I've got ya covered on this one. I'm all about those movie snacks. If you're grabbing some fun movie candy from the store, try creating a super fun candy charcuterie board (click here to see the spooky one I did last year).
What is a movie without popcorn?? You can make some yummy buttered popcorn or try this caramel corn recipe from our blog.
For the adults, try serving up a spooky cocktail to set the mood. I shared this recipe for a blackberry sage marg (with dry ice!) that is absolutely delicious.
Chocolate candy bark is super easy to make and you can customize it however you like. I did a spookier theme for the ones on our blog but you can always do some bark with some caramel, crushed pretzels, etc. for a more "fall" vibe.
The candy apple bar I shared last week would be such a fun addition to a movie night - especially for kiddos! It gives everyone a fun experience and is super tasty (win win!).
SET THE MOOD
Who doesn't like a cozy vibe when they are watching a movie? We've made super fun forts in the game room for the kiddos before and strung twinkle lights to create a magical vibe. If a fort isn't your scene, just grab all the cozy blankets and pillows you can find, create comfy pallets on the floor or the couch!
Here are some essentials that will take your movie night to the next level!
Stovetop Popcorn Popper // Bat Cocktail Glasses // Roll-up Lounge Pillow // Chunky Knit Blanket // Striped Floor Pillow // Gingham Floor Pillow // Serving Board // Melamine Popcorn Bowls
Once you have the movie picked, treats set out, and have set the mood, you are all set! Fall is the absolute best time for cozy and/or spooky movies and I hope you ring in the new season with lots of them!
